Spring arrived early this year. On a gloomy afternoon of late February, I stumbled upon this flowering cherry tree on the Georgetown campus.

Instead of cramming for midterms, Mikko and I decided that it was a good idea to do a photo shoot for his upcoming article on Thirty Seventh on concert apparels.
Music and fashion are always intertwined. Oftentimes one serves to inspire the other. Concert merchandise is not a new phenomenon, but recently more and more artists start to design their concert apparel--hoodies, T-shirts, jackets, hats, to other items--concert merch is grabbing more of fans' attention day by day. Mikko is demonstrating a few items of his collections in this photo shoot below.

Kanye West, "Saint Pablo".
David Bowie, "Ziggy Stardust".
Chance the Rapper, "Magnificent".
The following photos were taken during an interview with Georgetown's own fashion brand designer, K Mee (COL '17) and Camion Horton (SFS '17)
When asked about the initial idea about designing, Camion answered,
"my thing was, I wanted us to provide something that would keep people on their toes, but at the same time give them a sense of confidence."

"Dad Hats [as a trend] has been more universally accepted as unisex, so we're not catering to any specific kind of person.
You don't have to have a certain fashion style, you don't have to be tomboyish or whatever, anyone can wear them."

Writer Derek Nelson's idea was to remind people of the excessive appearance Adidas Stan Smith sneakers.
Although these white shoes do go with pretty much any casual apparel, and are very easy to take care of (or not),
it is time to switch up your footwear because there are many other options than Stan Smith that fashionistas like you should be keep up with.

This past summer, I studied abroad in Florence at Georgetown's very own Villa le Balze. The adventure in Florence was dreamlike.
As an Art History major, walking through the elaborate Renaissance buildings was like falling into my paradise.
My favorite building of all times, the Florence Cathedral.
View of Bella Firenze from top of the Duomo (dome of the Florence Cathedral).
Friends who climbed up the Duomo with me also enjoyed the view.

Across from the front doors of the Florence Cathedral is the Florence Baptistery. This is a photo of the golden ceiling inside of the Baptistery. The mosaic depicts a scene of the Last Judgement.

My roommate Bella and I took a spontaneous trip to Venice and the Island of Burano on a weekend while we were in Italy.
The train ride from Florence to Venice was about 3 hours long.
Venice is a city on the water. The major form of transportation was ferry, which was not the most efficient but generally operates according to the schedule.
First views we saw as soon as we hopped off the train.
The glistening ripples in the water reflected the rays of sunshine. The gondolas slowly glide over the smooth water.

After looking up attractions around Venice, Bella and I decided to do a half-day trip to Burano, where houses are painted in different colors like skittles lined up by the waterway.
The instruction to ferries were not the most helpful; the 20-minute trip took us almost an hour, but we finally arrived at Burano!
Adorable colorful houses at Burano! We spotted the vibrant colors and instantly fell in love with it from miles away on the water.
Bella and I loved Burano so much that we almost missed our ferry back to Venice.
Peaceful Venice at sunset.
